Why Accreditation Matters
Since 2022, all New Zealand employers must be accredited with Immigration New Zealand (INZ) before hiring migrant workers. Accreditation ensures that employers meet ethical employment standards and can support migrants fairly in the workplace.
Employer Job Check
Before hiring a migrant worker, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) requires employers to show that they’ve made a genuine effort to train, upskill, and hire New Zealand workers first. This is done through a Job Check application, which proves that no suitable local candidates are available for the role.
How It Works:
Submit a Job Check application to INZ, demonstrating the need to hire a migrant worker.
If no qualified New Zealanders are found, INZ will approve the Job Check.
Once approved—and your business is accredited—you can hire migrants under the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) program.
